Household Hazardous Waste

The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection events are held at the Recovery Operations Center, 520 Atkinson Way (approximately one mile north of Denbigh Boulevard off Warwick Boulevard).

Collection Schedule


  • Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Maximum amount per household: up to 75 pounds of solids and/or up to 5 gallons of liquids.

Acceptable Materials


  • Large (big back TV’s). Two TV’s per household
  • Latex Paint

Acceptable Materials


  • Household Maintenance Products - oil paints, stains, wood sealers, thinners, solvents, adhesives, glues
  • Automotive Products - gasoline and other fuels, auto batteries, car waxes, oil and gasoline mixtures, brake fluid, fuel additives
  • Lawn and Garden Products - insecticides, weed killers, pesticides, fertilizers
  • Miscellaneous Products - photo finishing supplies, chemistry sets, charcoal fluid, household batteries, fluorescent bulbs/tubes, compact fluorescent bulbs, swimming pool chemicals

Unacceptable Materials


  • Asbestos
  • Unknown materials
  • Waste containing polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs) (e.g. coolant from old appliances, transformers)
  • Household garbage and trash
  • Business or medical wastes
  • Explosives, compressed gas cylinders
  • Mercury
  • Smoke Detectors
