Robbery/Aggravated Assault

I’m MPO Brandon Maynard.  The Newport News Police Department needs your help to solve a past robbery and aggravated assault.

On December 28th, 2018 at 8:07 PM, Newport News Police were dispatched to a shooting in the area of 34th Street and Roanoke Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 44 year-old Hampton man in the 1100 block of 34th Street suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. It was reported the victim was driving down 34th Street when another vehicle pulled out into the road causing him to stop. Two unknown black males armed with firearms pulled the victim out of his vehicle and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money.  After the robbery, the victim was shot in the leg when he was trying to get away.  Medics also responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for further treatment.

The first subject was described as an unknown male, approximately 5’4" with facial hair. The second male was described as having dreads and a tattoo on his face around one of his eyes.
