We have received several reports that individuals, claiming to work for Newport News Waterworks, are going house to house requesting to enter the home and test the tap water. THESE ARE NOT WATERWORKS EMPLOYEES.

• Waterworks employees will not enter a home unless requested by the customer through our Customer Services Branch and an appointment is scheduled.
• We wear Waterworks uniforms and carry City ID cards.
• We drive identifiable Waterworks vehicles.
• We DO NOT have contracts with companies or contractors for water testing services.

Do not fall prey to deceptive tactics and potential criminal activity. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, DO NOT ALLOW THESE INDIVIDUALS IN YOUR HOME, CALL THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY.
