The Public Works Department, in concert with its Asset Management System User Departments are proud to introduce a new tool to our Newport News Citizens. This tool is a web site that allows our customers to “Report a Problem or Request a Service”.
For some time, the Public Works Department has been working to implement a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This CRM is a subsystem of Cityworks, our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The CRM product is a web site tool that allows the Citizens of Newport News to submit a Request for Service utilizing their web browser from their home. With the many different schedules that our Newport News Citizens have , this “web portal” provides a 24/7 ability to conduct business with Public Works (and also the user departments of Engineering & Codes Compliance). When Citizens get off of work, out of class, or get back from an evening out, and the departments above are closed for the evening, they can simply go to NN ONLINE and make/update/check the status of their request(s) when it is convenient for them. We are proud to announce this to our Citizens and hope they will take advantage of this new feature on our web site.
