Building Services Division of the Public Works Department

Mission Statement

The mission of the Building Services Division is to maintain a safe, secure, comfortable, and clean environment for city employees and citizens who use city buildings and facilities.

The Building Services Division of Public Works is comprised of approximately 70 full and part time employees engaged in the overall maintenance of more than 200 occupied and unoccupied city structures.

Building Services is staffed by:

• Staff Technician

• Administrative Assistant

• Operations Superintendent (3)

• Facilities Environmental Manager

• Building Supervisor

• Crew Supervisor A

• Carpenter Specialist (3)

• Electrical Specialist (4)

• Maintenance Mechanic Specialist (5)

• Plumber Specialist (5)

• Trades Assistant (4)

• Custodians (9 full time; 29 part time)

Other Projects

In addition to fulfilling the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and custodial needs of city buildings, the Building Services Division also provides power and lighting support for various events throughout the year. These events include the Mid-week party, 5K runs, Park festivals, Christmas tree lighting and other special activities. Our skilled carpenters have provided custom cabinets and furniture as well.
