Asset Management Division of the Public Works Department
| The Asset Management Division includes 7 employees involved in the support of the other seven operations divisions. |
The Asset Management Division maintains the Operation and Maintenance Infrastructure Assets for the City of Newport News. It administrates and supports the Multi-Departmental Asset Management System, Azteca Cityworks for the benefit of all citizens. In addition, this division supports the Public Works Divisions with respect to Computer Equipment, Local Area Network, Pagers, Radios, and Telephones (desk & cell), all Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support and the administration of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) systems utilized within the department. This division serves as liaison with the City’s I.T. Department and supports the batch, mainframe programming needs of departmental users. Finally, the division ensures the integrity and proper function of the many and varied systems utilized by operating divisions, and establishes exception audit trails to advise divisions of error and/or problems. |
