Get great deals on gently used books and videos while supporting the library when you shop at the Friends of the Newport News Public Library’s August book sale.

Get great deals on gently used books and videos while supporting the library when you shop at the Friends of the Newport News Public Library’s August book sale.

The book sale is 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, at West Avenue Library, 2907 West Ave., Newport News, VA 23607.

Thousands of fiction and nonfiction books are available. Prices are $1 for hardbacks, CDs and DVDs; 50 cents for paperbacks and VHS tapes; 25 cents for audiobooks on cassette; and 10 cents for children’s books. Collectibles and current best sellers are individually priced, and a special sale on Saturday offers a bag of paperback fiction books for only $2.
