Youth Leadership Program accepting applications until May 15

Applications for the 2010 Summer Youth Leadership Program are being accepted now through May 15. The eight-week service learning program will give 20 youth the opportunity to gain job readiness experience and to explore career opportunities in cultural arts, education, information services, recreation, sports and youth development. It is open to youth ages 13-17 who are residents of southeast Newport News.

Southeast Community youth have the opportunity to gain job readiness skills while exploring career opportunities through the Youth Leadership Program of the Wickham Avenue Alliance.

Applications for the 2010 Summer Youth Leadership Program are being accepted now through May 15. It is open to youth ages 13-17 who are residents of southeast Newport News.

Applications are available from any of the facilities of the Wickham Avenue Alliance, which are Pearl Bailey Library, C. Waldo Scott Center, Doris Miller Recreation Center, YWCA of the Virginia Peninsula and Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center.
