UPDATE ON CITY OPERATIONS
2010 Dec 16Due to deteriorating weather and road conditions, all city offices, programs and facilities closed at noon today. This includes public libraries as well as recreation centers and programs. For information on Celebration in Lights, call 757-886-7911.
Utilizing nine salt/sand spreaders and 18 snow plows, Newport News Public Works crews are working diligently to clear roadways and will continue to do so throughout the storm.
Garbage, recycling and curbside loose leaf collections have been suspended for Thursday, December 16 and should resume on Friday, December 17, depending on road and weather conditions. If your solid waste was not collected on Thursday, please leave the items curbside until collected. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
