CITY OFFICES TO CLOSE FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

All Newport News City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

All Newport News City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. This includes City Hall, City offices at City Center at Oyster Point, Newport News Waterworks' customer service offices, the Public Works Operations Center, and both locations of the Treasurer's and Commissioner of the Revenue's offices.  Newport News Public Libraries will also be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday; however, they will observe normal operating hours Saturday and Sunday.

Garbage, recycling and bulk waste collections that would normally take place on Thursday, November 26, will take place on Saturday, November 28.  The Newport News Compost and Drop-Off Facility (i.e., the landfill) will also be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27, but will resume normal operating hours on Saturday, November 28.
