NEWPORT NEWS, Va. 2008 Aug 25

What do Newport News residents think of their libraries? That’s what the Newport News Public Library System plans to find out with a written survey.

The survey will be conducted Aug. 26 through Oct. 13 online at the library’s website, www.nngov.com/library, as well at locations and events throughout Newport News and in the libraries. Anyone aged 12 and older who completes the survey can enter a drawing for free books, bookbags and gift certificates from local restaurants. Library employees and their families are not eligible to win.

The survey is designed to solicit opinions and interests from Newport News residents, especially those who do not use the Newport News libraries’ services. Information gathered from this survey may be used to help the community libraries better serve the residents. The information collected will be confidential and will not be associated with individual survey participants in any way.

All Newport News residents are encouraged to complete the survey online at www.nngov.com/library, or by filling out a paper survey in the libraries or at the Newport News Public Library System’s booths at the following events: Southeast Community Day, Sept. 6; Denbigh Day, Sept. 20; Fall Festival, Oct. 4 and 5; and the Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center Open House, Oct. 11. Residents also may request to have a paper survey emailed or mailed to them by calling 757-926-1357.

The results of this survey will be available in late October on the library’s website at www.nngov.com/library, or participants may request to have a written report of the findings to mailed or emailed to them by calling 757-926-1357.
