Get great deals on gently used books and videos while supporting the library when you shop at the Friends of the Newport News Public Library’s September book sale.

Get great deals on gently used books and videos while supporting the library when you shop at the Friends of the Newport News Public Library’s September book sale.

The book sale is noon-6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17; 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18; and 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at West Avenue Library, 2907 West Ave., Newport News, VA 23607. A special preview sale for members of the Friends of the Newport News Public Library is 10 a.m.-noon, Thursday, Sept. 17.

Thousands of fiction and nonfiction books are available, including collections of classics, foreign languages, military history, textbooks, children’s books and collectibles.

Prices for the book sale are $1 for hardbacks, CDs and DVDs; 50 cents for paperbacks, VHS tapes and audiobooks on cassette; and 25 cents for children’s books. Collectibles and current best sellers are individually priced.

All sales support the Newport News Public Library System. When you buy a book from the Bookstore or through a booksale, you are not only saving money, but also helping to reduce waste and supporting the Library System and your community.
