Alcohol and substance abuse are statistically at epidemic proportions among our senior community. They continue to be some of the most unreported, undiagnosed, and untreated illnesses affecting the elderly.
The Virginia Department of Alcohol Beverage Control will facilitate this workshop and review:
• Virginia’s legal drinking limits
• Effects of Aging and Use of Alcohol
• Drug Interactions and Alcohol Use in Seniors
The workshop is presented by the City of Newport News, VA Department of Alcohol Beverage Control, and the Alcohol Aging and Awareness Group. There will be interactive demonstrations during the workshop.
