CONSTRUCTION IN OYSTER POINT WILL IMPACT TRAFFIC

Improvements Being Made To Intersection Of Canon Blvd And Old Oyster Point Road

 Crews will soon begin construction on roadway improvements at the intersection of Canon Boulevard and Old Oyster Point Road in the Oyster Point Business Park. Construction of the project is expected to take about seven months to complete and during that time traffic along the northern part of Canon Boulevard near its intersection with Oyster Point Road will be impacted.

The roadway improvements will consist of adding a new right/through lane from Canon Blvd onto Old Oyster Point Rd, adding a new right turn lane from Old Oyster Point Rd onto Canon Blvd, removal of the existing island, relocation of the existing sidewalk and landscape berm, and replacement of the existing traffic signals.

Motorists may wish to avoid the construction area by utilizing other ingress/egress avenues for Oyster Point and City Center, including Middle Ground Boulevard and Thimble Shoals Boulevard from Jefferson Avenue, and Diligence Drive and Thimble Shoals Boulevard from J. Clyde Morris Boulevard.
