OLDER AMERICAN MONTH ESSAY CONTEST

Do you know an older American that has made an impact on your life? If so, we challenge you to write about your older adult in our “Meet My Older American, They Made a Difference” contest. Entries made in this contest will be judged on compassion, descriptive thought, and grammar. A panel of professionals will judge all entries and pick three of the top essays to receive a prize.

Contestants can be any age. It’s free to enter the contest. All submissions must be no more than two pages and legible if written. Mail submissions to Senior Citizen Advocate, 6060 Jefferson Avenue, 8th Floor, Newport News, VA 23605 or email to sbanks@nngov.com.

The contest begins May 3, 2011 and ends on May 13, 2011. Three essays will be chosen and awards will be revealed on May 16th at the Newport News Department of Human Services.
