Winners bypass waiting lists in Library System contest

Winners in a new contest can be the first ones to borrow newly released movies and best-selling books from the Newport News Public Library System.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Winners in a new contest can be the first ones to borrow newly released movies and best-selling books from the Newport News Public Library System.

Contestants in the VIP Pass @ Your Library Contest answer trivia questions about newly released movies and best-selling books on the Library System’s Facebook page. The first contestant to answer the question correctly wins the privilege of being the first to check out the new item, bypassing any waiting lists.

The Contest begins July 1, and will continue with a new question and winner each week. Contest trivia questions, answers and announcements of winners will be made on the Library System’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/nnlibrary.

Contestants are encouraged to seek assistance from Newport News Public Library System staff members in finding answers to the trivia questions. See below for complete Contest rules. For more information about the Contest, please call the Library System Administration Office at 757-926-1350 or any Newport News Public Library.

VIP Pass @ Your Library Contest Rules

Winners may NOT be employed by the Newport News Public Library System.
Entries are made by posting answers in the comments section following the trivia question on the Library System’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/nnlibrary
The Contest is open to anyone aged 14 and older with a Facebook account.
The first contestant to correctly answer each trivia question will be declared the winner.
Each trivia question will continue to be active until a winner is declared.
Winners will be notified by Facebook message.
Contestants do not need to have a Library Card in order to enter the Contest, although a Newport News Public Library Card in good standing is required to check out the item.
Winners must check out the winning item from a Newport News Public Library System location within five days. If winners do not check out the item by that time, an alternate winner will be selected.
All Library System rules and policies apply to the checked out item. Copies of these rules and policies are available in each Newport News Public Library.
By entering the Contest, contestants agree to have their name used in Library publicity, if selected as a winner.
Failure to follow the Contest Rules will disqualify entries.
