NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – How does a ghost-hunter conduct an investigation? What are the current trends in finding ghosts? These questions and many more will be answered this month as Virgil I. Grissom Library hosts a free program: Ghost Hunting 101.
Central Virginia Paranormal Investigations (CVAPI) will present the introduction to ghost hunting 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Grissom Library. The event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
CVAPI is a ghost-hunting team founded by Jackie Tomlin that has been investigating paranormal phenomena across central and southern Virginia since 2008. The group will provide information about the do's and the don'ts of getting started, organizing a team, avoiding legal issues, finding the history of a location, working with the media (including the producers of the Discovery Channel) and more. They will demonstrate the equipment that they use and answer audience questions near the end of the presentation.
