Newport News Parks, Recreation & Tourism will present an afternoon of music, exhibits, and free children’s activities at the King-Lincoln Music Festival on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at King-Lincoln Park (600 Jefferson Avenue).
Entertainers for the King-Lincoln Music Festival: 12:00 noon- United Souls (Reggae), 1:00 p.m. & 3:15 p.m. – Elegba Folklore Society (African Dance & Music), 2:00 p.m. – A Touch of Spice (R & B), and 4:00 p.m. – Rhythm Project (Steel Drums).
Free children’s activities will include a Beagle Moon Bounce, Obstacle Course, Tiki Island Rock Wall, Monkey Motion Jump, Dino Zone, Balloon Sculpting, and Clowns; four free “make-and-take crafts”- Design Your Own Tamborines, Domroo Drums, Color Your Own Backpack, and Tribal Rainsticks; and a “Musical Instrument Petting Zoo” where children can try a variety of instruments and learn about different styles of music.

Admission, parking, and all children’s activities are free. Pets are not permitted in the festival area. Food vendors will be on site selling seafood, barbeque, funnel cakes, sno cones, hot dogs, snacks, and soft drinks.
