INFORMATIONAL FORUM FOR HISPANIC COMMUNITY TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY

The Hispanic Advisory Committee to the City Manager is holding an informational forum for the Hispanic community from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25th at the Peninsula Health Department’s conference room, 416 J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. The event is free and open to the public.

Various city departments, including the Police Department, Sheriff’s Office, Health Department, and Codes Compliance, will be making presentations in Spanish. Other topics to be discussed include social services programs, federal labor laws, legal issues, and child and family services. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions following each presentation.

About the Hispanic Advisory Committee to the City Manager
The Hispanic Advisory Committee to the City Manager was formally established in 2008 to serve as a liaison between city administration and the Hispanic community. The committee advises and makes recommendations to the City Manager on current and future issues, needs, programs, and services as they relate to the Hispanic community. The committee is dedicated to providing leadership and advocacy that will foster the development and enrichment of the City’s Hispanic community, and all Newport News residents.
