The City of Newport News received a donation of ten trees from GEICO in celebration of GEICO’s 75th Anniversary. GEICO’s Virginia Beach Office donated a total of seventy-five trees to be planted throughout the seven cities of Hampton Roads. The ten trees donated to Newport News, six October Glory Red Maples and four Pin Oaks, will be planted in Christopher Newport Park on Thursday, April 21, 2011. The trees will be planted by volunteers from Newport News Shipbuilding- a Division of Huntington Ingalls Industries.
