Carrie Crowder, age 7, concentrates on making some extra large bubbles at Main Street Library's "Fun in the Sun" program on June 30.
A giant rainbow parachute and hundreds of bubbles floated in the air on Thursday, June 30, outside Main Street Library, as 45 children gathered for “Fun in the Sun,” part of the Summer Reading Program.
The two groups of children each had the opportunity to play parachute games as well as to blow bubbles. The children made the parachute into a tent by raising it high above their heads then pulling it down behind them and sitting on its inside edge.
With their bubble wands, the children tried to make the biggest and longest bubbles of the group. Others preferred to chase and pop the bubbles before they drifted too far away.
The Summer Reading Program continues through July 31 with opportunities for adults, children and teens to win prizes and express themselves creatively with special events and contests. For more information, visit the Library’s website at http://www.nngov.com/library/resources/srp.
