A new, free copy of a book and discount coupons from Barnes & Noble could be yours. The Newport News Public Library System is looking for volunteers to give their opinions of a proposed new logo and slogan for the Library System. We are interested in the opinions of those who do not use the library.

If you are a Newport News resident who does NOT use the library, please sign up at http://tinyurl.com/libraryfocusgroup. You will be asked to fill out a short survey and attend a focus group meeting at 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30. The meeting will be in the York Room at Fountain Plaza Two, 700 Town Center Drive, in City Center of Oyster Point, Newport News. The focus group is open to the first 16 people to sign up, but a waiting list is being created for those interested in attending at a later time.

The new books and discount coupons will be given out at the end of the focus group meeting to all participants, and there are no other requirements. Books include a variety of fiction and nonfiction, and include autographed copies of “The Disagreement” by Nick Taylor. Other titles include “Duma Key” by Stephen King, “Marcella Says … ” and “Chicken Soup for the Wine Lover’s Soul.” For more information, please contact Karen L. Gill, community relations and programs coordinator with the Newport News Public Library System, at 757-926-1357 or by email at kgill@nngov.com.
