STATEMENT FROM MAYOR PRICE REGARDING EARTHQUAKE

2011 Aug 23

 Statement from Mayor McKinley Price:

"Today we experienced an earthquake in our City. I was in my office on the 5th floor in City Center when it occurred. City Hall and Rouse Tower were closed for the remainder of the day as a precautionary measure until a visual inspection could be done. At this time no major damage to city buildings or structures have been reported. "

"I encourage our citizens to refrain from using 911 unless there is a true emergency, and to pay attention to updated information on approaching Hurricane Irene."
