The Doris Miller Community Center announces its 60th Anniversary Celebration to be held on Saturday, December 12th, 2009 from 11am-2pm at Doris Miller Community Center, 2814 Wickham Avenue. Join us as we commemorate this historical moment in the South East Community of Newport News, Virginia. The Doris Miller Community Center, a facility of Newport News Parks, Recreation & Tourism, serves the needs, wants, and interest of the South East Community and the City of Newport News at large by providing athletic and culturally enriching activities for all ages

The Anniversary Celebration will give the community a chance to reunite as we welcome and host former and present participants of the center. The celebration will include a ceremony with keynote speaker Judge David Pugh, light refreshments, and an open house full of engaging activities. This event is free and open to the public.
