Donate all or part of tax refund to help libraries

Tax refunds can help the Newport News Public Libraries

Taxpayers may choose to donate their tax refund to the Newport News Public Library System.

Tax refunds can help the Newport News Public Library System continue to provide nearly all of its services free of charge to the public.

Taxpayers may voluntarily donate all or part of their 2011 Virginia State tax refund to the Newport News Public Library System Foundation (Contribution Code 211302) or the Friends of the Newport News Public Library (Contribution Code 211301). They may also make a donation through the tax form, even if they are not receiving a refund.

Donations can be made by entering Code 211302 and/or 211301 and an amount on Line 23 of Form 760. This amount can be all or part of the tax refund, or it can be any amount for a donation.
