Craft Sale to benefit Grissom Library
Knitting group to sell items to benefit Grissom Library
Locally made craft items will be for sale 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at Grissom Library. All items were made by members of the Loosely Knit Group. Sales benefit Grissom Library.
Newport News, Va. 2011 Oct 19Just in time for the holidays, shoppers can purchase locally handmade craft items and help their library. A local group of knitters and crocheters is donating handiwork to help the Newport News Public Library System’s Virgil I. Grissom Library.
Everyone is invited to shop for homemade craft items 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3 at Grissom Library. Items for sale include hats, scarves, bookmarks, afghans, slippers, Christmas ornaments, baby blankets, baby sweaters, baby hats, baby booties, dishcloths and more. All items are knit, crochet and counted cross-stitch made by members of the Library's Loosely Knit Group.
The Craft Sale is presented by the Group in conjunction with the Newport News Public Library System Foundation. All proceeds will benefit Grissom Library.
The Loosely Knit Group meets 9:30-11:30 a.m. every Thursday at Grissom Library to work on crafts and socialize. Anyone who enjoys knitting, crocheting, or any craft is welcome, and no registration is required.
