Community Wellness Day

The Newport News Department of Human Services Senior Citizen Advocate invites you to participate in the 2011 Community Wellness Day! On Monday, September 12, 2011 from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, the AARP-Walgreens Wellness Tour Bus will be in the parking lot of the Newport News Department of Human Services, 6060 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, Virginia 23605.

Six free health screenings will be offered: cholesterol, blood pressure, bone density, glucose, waist circumference, and BMI. There will also be free prizes, free healthy snacks, “Minute It to Win It” challenges and other informative events. Community advocacy leaders will be on-site to answer general questions.

The AARP-Walgreens Wellness Tour Bus is one of nine custom-equipped buses with trained staff that travel throughout the country to make health tests accessible to all communities.
