Newport News City Hall, located at 2400 Washington Avenue, will close at 2:00 p.m. today, as the building is without air conditioning due to a cooling tower failure overnight. This includes the Commissioner of the Revenue and Treasurer’s office located in the City Hall Annex. The satellite office of the Commissioner of the Revenue and Treasurer at 12912 Jefferson Avenue will be open normal hours today.

The Voter Registrar's Office at City Hall will remain open today for absentee voting and will be open on Saturday, June 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The 911 center, located in the basement of City Hall, will remain operational. It is on a separate air handler and has cooling.

All other City office locations will be operating as usual.
