Christmas Holiday

Newport News City offices will be closed on Thursday, December 23 and Friday, December 24 for the Christmas holiday.

All Newport News public libraries will be closed Thursday, December 23 through Saturday, December 25. Normal operating hours will resume on Sunday, December 26.

Garbage, recycling and bulk waste collections for the Christmas holiday will be on schedule.

The Citizen’s Drop-Off and Compost Facility (landfill), located at 550 Atkinson Way, will be closed Thursday, December 23 through Saturday, December 25.

New Year’s Holiday

All offices will be closed on Friday, December 31 for the New Year’s holiday.

All Newport News public libraries will be closed on Friday, December 31 and Saturday, January 1. Normal operating hours will resume on Sunday, January 2.

Garbage, recycling and bulk waste collections for the New Year’s holiday will be on schedule. NOTE: THE SNOW STORM HAS ALTERED THE SOLID WASTE COLLECTION SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 27. PELASE SEE THE REVISED NEWS RELEASE FOR DETAILS ON GARBAGE, RECYCLING AND BULK WASTE COLLECTIONS FOR THIS WEEK.
