Brighten a senior's holiday season with a special carol sung just for them!

The Newport News Department of Human Services Senior Citizen Advocate's Office is coordinating a “Call for Carols” series to brighten the holidays for seniors in Newport News. If you would like to schedule a carol or volunteer as a singer, please contact Shervonne Banks at 926-6647. Carols are available to reflect all Faiths.

Do you know a senior that could benefit from some holiday cheer? If so, this program could be beneficial! The Call for Carol program helps to eliminate senior isolation and depression during the holiday season. This is how it works:

• Pick up your phone and contact the Senior Citizen Advocate’s Office at (757) 926-6647.
• Provide the name, address, and time of when the recipient will be available. Confirmation is necessary. Don’t forget your name and a special message for your recipient.
• A representative will contact you within 24 hours and provide a confirmation date/time of appearance.
• The Holiday Carolers will meet with the recipient, sing two holiday carols, and present a holiday card.
