REGULAR BULK WASTE COLLECTIONS BEHIND SCHEDULE

Regular every other week collection of bulk items is behind schedule.

Due to unusually large volumes of bulk waste being set out, regular every other week collection of bulk items is behind schedule. Citizens are asked to set bulk items out on their regularly scheduled collection day, and leave them curbside until collected. Public Works crews will be working through the weekend to try to catch up. Additionally, contractor crews are in the final stages of collecting storm debris from Hurricane Irene.

Citizens should be reminded NOT to mix vegetative debris (i.e., yard waste) with other bulk waste items, like bagged debris, mattresses, furniture, appliances, etc. Vegetative debris should be in a separate pile from other bulk items when placed curbside for collection.
