Get great deals on gently used books and videos while supporting the library when you shop at the Friends of the Newport News Public Library’s book sale, Sept. 16-18.

 

The book sale will be at West Avenue Library, 2907 West Ave., in downtown Newport News. Hours for the sale are noon-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17; and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. A special preview for Friends members is 10 a.m.-noon on Thursday, Sept. 16.

 

Thousands of fiction and nonfiction books are available, including collections of classics, foreign languages, military history, textbooks, children’s books, collectibles and out-of-print books.

 

Regular prices are $1 for hardbacks, 50 cents for paperbacks, 25 cents for children’s books, 50 cents for audiobooks on cassette, 50 cents for VHS tapes and $1 for CDs/DVDs. Collectibles and current bestsellers are individually priced. During the Bag Sale on Saturday, Sept. 18, fill a bag for $5.

 

All sales support the Newport News Public Library System. When you buy a book from the Bookstore or through a booksale, you are not only saving money, but also helping to reduce waste and supporting the Library System and your community.
