2011 Asset Builder Nomination Forms Available

2011 Asset Builder Nomination Forms are available. Recognize those who help our youth to thrive. Application deadline is April 15, 2011.

Building assets is about helping young people thrive. The Newport News Commission on Youth is currently accepting applications for the 2011 Asset Builder Awards. Businesses, organizations, and individuals (adults and youth) are eligible. Applications are available at the Department of Human Services Youth Development Programs Office, 12284 Warwick Blvd, or you can call 597-2801, extension 308. Application deadline is April 15, 2011.

Developmental Assets™ are building blocks to the health and well-being of youth. They are ways to give youth the tools to make healthy choices by building on the strengths and abilities they already have.

Eligible businesses and organizations must be located in the City of Newport News and primarily serve residents of the City. Eligible adults and youth must be residents of the City. If you know of businesses, organizations or individuals who help young people in Newport News develop positive values and make positive choices in their lives by intentionally including Developmental Assets™ and positive youth development in their work, please nominate them.
