Newport News Fire Investigators need your help to solve a series of dumpster fires in the Southeast Community.

Between August 6 and August 19, 2014, there have been a total of 10 dumpster fires in the area of 16th Street and Ivy Avenue and the 600 block of Ridley Circle. We need your help to solve these cases of arson and bring the guilty the justice.

Newport News Fire Department responded to five dumpster fires between 9:18 p.m. on August 6th and 1:46 a.m. on August 7th in the Ridley Place complex. Since that time, there have been two additional dumpster fires on August 13th and three on August 19th. There is no suspect information available at this time.

If you know anything about these dumpster fires or the persons responsible, call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (1-888-562-5887). Crime Line callers may remain totally anonymous, are never required to testify in court and could be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
