Special Investigations Section
The primary mission of the Special Investigations Section is twofold. Through the Career Criminal and Task Force Operations Unit, this section conducts long-term federal violent criminal enterprise investigations targeting large scale narcotics and weapons violations using partnerships with the FBI, the ATF, the DEA and the Virginia State Police. |

These investigations concentrate on effectively targeting organizations of violent criminals and the proliferation of gun violence within the City of Newport News. This section is also tasked with investigating criminal street gang involvement and crimes associated with gang activity in our community and schools. |
