The South District operates 24 hours a day using three shifts to cover this time frame answering citizen's calls for service. We also have a detective unit which deals solely with property crimes such as burglary, vandalism, stolen vehicles, property damage, and economic crimes. High Impact Patrol (H.I.P.,) one sergeant, and five officers address our more severe or chronic problems. The most serious of crimes (murder, rape and robbery) are investigated by the Major Crimes Unit. |
|
The precinct is supervised by a Captain, three lieutenants, and twelve sergeants. There are approximately seventy police and civilian personnel assigned to the South Precinct.
