Call to order
Minutes were reviewed with minor modifications.
Motion to accept made by Stephen Hudak
Second – Carolyn Hughes
Motion accepted unanimously.
COA-05-129
Mr. Shook discussed the requirements of fence installation emphasizing that the finished side must face out and that the fence must be painted or stained. Ms. Stodgill noted that the diagonal angle of the fencing on the front corner appeared awkward and that squaring it off would better serve the applicant and would look better. The applicant agreed and changed his request to reflect the recommended alignment.
Motion – Katie Stodgill
Second – Stephen Hudak
Motion accepted unanimously.
COA-05-130
Applicant was not present.
Mr. Shook noted that the application was modified so that all windows would be made to fit. The existing improperly sized windows would be removed.
Mr. Shook provided a photograph of the building prior to the removal of windows that showed two-over-two double-hung windows. Ms. Dahlen recommended denial of the application because the proposed six-over-six windows do not match the original windows.
Ms. Dalhren made a motion to deny the application
Mr. Hudak seconded.
Motion accepted unanimously.
New Business
Proposed was a modification to the city ordinance to allow the engineer/architect position to be filled by an unlicensed professional. Ms. Stodgill noted that there is no such thing as an unlicensed architect. The broadening of these parameters would make it easier to fill these positions. Ms. Hughes stated that if these requirements are relaxed, then the members must be a resident property owner instead of the current requirement of being a city resident.
