ADULT SOFTBALL-MEN'S, WOMEN'S, AND COED LEAGUES
This program is for men, women, and coed.  The organizational meeting is in March at the Warwick Recreation Center and a team representative must be present at the meeting to register the team.  There is a team registration fee required for this program.  For more information, call 591-4892. SOUTHEASTERN CHURCH CO-ED SOFTBALL
This program is for men and women.  The organizational meeting is in March at the Doris Miller Community Center.  A team representative must be present at the meeting to register the team.  A league fee is required for this program.  For more information, call 591-4892. Basketball- Youth

YOUTH BASKETBALL-Summer and Winter
This program is for boys and girls ages 7-15 (summer league) 5-15 (winter league), city residents only.  For the summer league the registration date is June 1 (2nd if the 1st is on a Sunday) and will run for about 7 days.  Actual play will begin the 1st week of July and last 6-8 weeks.  The winter league registration is on November 2-6, 2009.  Actual play will begin the first week of January and last 8-10 weeks. 

A parent/guardian and a birth certificate are necessary for registration.  Registration times are Monday-Friday 5:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday 11:am-3:00pm, closed on Sunday.  No fee is charged for this program.

YOUTH CHURCH BASKETBALL
This program is for boys and girls ages 7-15.  Church teams only, no individual registration.  League information, including rules and fees, will be distributed at the organizational meeting. 

Games will be played at sites throughout the city.  Practice sites will be determined by individual churches.  There is a league fee for this program.

ADULT SUMMER/WINTER BASKETBALL
This program is for men and women.  A team representative must be present at the organizational meeting to register their team on May 21, 2009 for the summer league at the Warwick Recreation Center. A league fee is required.

Deer Park Cheerleading is Registering NOW!  Dates and times are as follows:

·         $40 registration fee (Cash, non refundable after the first practice)

We will be handing out a fundraiser; 50% of your sales get credited towards the purchase of your daughters uniform, warm-up, and poms.  The sooner you register the more time you have to sell!  Please contact the DP Cheer League President, Dawn Pettit, 757-508-4567, if you have any questions.

Ages:  5-15.  Practices: Usually 2-3 times a week during the summer months (usually starting in June).  General Information:  Deer Park Cheerleaders cheer for the Deer Park Cougars Football teams only.  No traveling and no competing.  Each cheer team will cheer at least 2 games a week. Games are in the evenings during the week days and the mornings on Saturdays.  Game days and times depend on which team they are assigned to.  Uniform Info:  Uniforms will be the same as the 2008 season.  Fundraiser information will be handed out at the time of registration which will help each parent pay for their child’s uniform.  Uniform cost is approximately $90, which is the skirt, vest, and poms.  Cost of the Warm-Up suit is approximately $72, but is optional.  Cost of socks, shoes, spankies, turtlenecks, etc is separate, but minimal.  Shoes are plain white running sneakers and the brand is optional.  50% of the fundraiser will go towards your daughters uniforms costs, i.e,. if you sell $200, you get $100 credit towards the purchase of Your daughters uniforms costs.  Volunteers:  Adult volunteers are always needed. Some of the areas that need volunteers are:  Team Parent, Coaches, Assistance Coaches, Fundraising, and much more.  Please sign up for volunteering at the time of registration.  Contact for more information: League President is Ms Dawn Pettit, 757-508-4567.

Football- Youth

This program is for boys and girls ages 6-14, city residents only.  Registration is Saturday, July 11, 18, 25 and August 1, 2009 from 10:00am-1:00pm.  Some locations will have registration on Fridays from 5pm-7pm or from 6pm-8pm.  Please call 591-4892 for more information.  Registration sites include:  Deer Park Little League Concession stand, Denbigh High School, Doris Miller Community Center, B&GCGHR and Sanford Elementary School.  A parent/guardian and birth certificate are required for registration.  An equipment fee is required.  For more information, call 591-4892. Football, Flag- Adult

INNER-CITY SOCCER
This program is for boys and girls ages 7-12, city residents only.  The registration runs from February 2 - March 14, 2009, Monday-Friday 6:00pm-8:00pm.  The registration sites include: B&GCGHR, Newsome Park Recreation Center, Doris Miller Community Center and Marshall Courts (NNRHA Office).  A parent/guardian and birth certificate are required for registration.  No fee is charged for this program.  For more information, call 591-4892. Table Tennis- Youth and Adult

The Newport News Table Tennis Club meets at the Midtown Community Center, 570 McLawhorn Drive, Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. in the gymnasium. Daily passes and annual memberships are available. Classes taught by USA Table Tennis certified coaches are available. For more information, e-mail the Newport News Table Tennis Club.

 

Volleyball- Adult (Spring Indoor and Summer Outdoor Beach)

This program is for men and women.  Leagues include men and women and mixed (coed).  The spring indoor league organizational meeting is in March at the Warwick Recreation Center.  A team representative must attend the meeting to register the team.

 

The summer outdoor league's organizational meeting is held in May at the Warwick Recreation Center.  A team representative must attend the meeting to register the team.  League fees are required for this program.  For more information, call 591-4892.
