Copies of Programs:

Duplication of tapes may be requested by anyone, in writing, for any program produced in-house. A fee of $15 will be charged for DVD. A fee of $10 will be charged for a VHS tape if the request is accompanied by a new, still-in-the-wrapper, high-quality VHS cassette. A fee of $15 will be charged if no tape is provided. Checks only, should be made out the City of Newport News. Copies of programs not produced in-house may be duplicated, provided there is no copyright infringement, at the same duplication fee of $10 with tape, or $15 without tape. The duplication fee will be waived for City Executive Staff or department use. Duplication should be completed within 30 days of request and accompanying payment of fee.
Anyone may copy a program directly from the Channel 48 from their own home or office.

Services for City departments and related agencies:

• Electronic Bulletin Board Announcements - shown between programs and overnight
• "Newport News In Review" - news stories and information

• Interview programs - information and discussions on current events

• Major Events - use of the production truck, with multi-camera coverage of the event on location

• Features - scripted, on- or off-camera narrator, multiple location shooting, various activities, sound bites, extensive taping and editing

• PSA's - less than 60 second Public Service Announcements

• Satellite Downlink - receive and record satellite training programs, accessible to departments through the I-Net at various viewing locations within the city.
