Quick Search Help

Help tips for using Webfeat, a federated search engine that lets you search all of the Newport News Public Library System database and online catalog, all in one easy search.

The Newport News Public Library System subscribes to nearly three dozen databases, including encyclopedia, newspapers, magazine articles, e-books, and more. Now, you can search all of these resources, plus our own online catalog, in one easy search using "Quick Search" our new federated search product from Webfeat.

If you are using Quick Search at home, you will need your Newport News library card and your PIN number.

After you enter your search on the library page, you will be taken to a page with your search results.

At the top of the Search Results page, you will also have a search box so you can do additional searches if needed. From here you can enter your search term; select author, title, subject, or keyword; and select a category.

If you have any questions about how to use our Quick Search, please call (757) 247-8875 or call your local branch library.
