How to Text A Librarian
Steps for texting a NNPLS librarian.
What is Text a Librarian?
Text a Librarian lets you ask questions and get answers from reference librarians via text messages.

How do I Text a Librarian?
First time users type NNPL followed by your question and send it to 66746. After the first time, you don't need to enter NNPL.
When can I use the service?
Hours of operation:
7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday
We will respond as soon as possible. Questions outside of service hours will be answered the next service day.
What kind of questions can I ask via texting?
Use Text a Librarian to ask simple questions (up to 160 characters) that can be answered in brief responses (up to 320 characters). If our responses exceed 160 characters, they appear as two messages.
To ask questions requiring detailed responses or about your library card account, please call your local branch.
What do I need to use the service?
You need a mobile phone that is enabled to send and receive text messages.
What does the service cost?
The Library does not charge for this service, but charges from your cell phone provider may apply. These charges vary among plans and among telephone providers.
