Research Help
Call, e-mail or visit any library and we can help you with your research needs.
Looking for that special recipe? Have a home or auto repair need? Need to know how to cite a source for that term paper?? We have trained staff at each branch library to help with any question you may have.
There are three ways to contact us:
We also have subscriptions to numerous electronic resources if you want to research information for yourself. To use one of the databases from home you need to have a Newport News Public Library card.
If you are looking for information on starting a business, researching grant opportunities, or looking for a job and writing your resume, try our Business Information Center.
Job search assistance is also available at our SNAP centers at the Grisson, Main Street, and Pearl Bailey Library. Trained staff can assist with job searching, unemployment insurance claim filing, and more.
If you need a book or article that we do not own, we can request to borrow the item for you from another library throughout the country.
Our reference staff has also selected a number of web sites to aid in your research.
