National storyteller Megan Hicks will enchant audiences of all ages with stories and origami on Saturday, April 10, to mark the beginning of National Library Week. Ms. Hicks will apear at the Main Street Library at 11am, at the Pearl Bailey Library at 1pm, and at the Grissom Library at 3pm. |

Connie Porter, author of the Addy Walker American Girls historical fiction series, will be at the Pearl Bailey Library on April 17 at 11am for an author talk and book signing. The Addy books are about a 9-year-old girl determined to be free in 1864. An Addy American Girl doll and bookmarks will be given away free and Barnes & Noble will be present to sell books and other materials. Porter has also written two adult novels, "All-Bright Court" and "Imani All Mine. |

Everyone is invited to celebrate the fun-filled kickoff of the Pearl Bailey Library;s For Kids Only (FKO) program on Thursday April 15, 4:30 - 6:30pm. The celebration is sponsored by the Warwick Rotary Club, the District 7600 Rotary Club, and the Friends of the Newport News Public Library System. |
