Can Your Fines
In exchange for each food or personal item donated, the Newport News Public Library System will erase one fine from your account.
Can Your Fines Help out your local Peninsula Food Bank and save money at the same time. Between Nov. 29 - Dec. 31, 2008 we are collecting nonperishable food items or personal items for the Food Bank. In exchange for each food or personal item donated, we will erase one fine from your account. Sorry, but we cannot accept soda or expired goods. This includes outstanding fines for long-overdue items, but does not apply to lost or damaged materials or to fees charged once an account has been sent to the collection agency.
