With the ever-changing economy, more individuals are in need of help with food, child care, energy, medical or cash assistance. The Department of Human Services is encouraging citizens to use a new web-based application to apply for benefits.

CommonHelp is the Virginia Department of Social Services’ fast and easy way to screen and apply online for many benefit programs. The online application will allow Virginians to: 
 

  • Screen for eligibility for social services benefits & services
  •  Apply for these benefits & services (including renewals)
  •  Check the status of their benefits
  •  Report changes to their status
  •  Access help 24/7
