Tax Relief for the Elderly and Disabled

Tax relief for the elderly and disabled provides relief from paying real estate taxes. You may be granted full relief or partial relief, depending upon your income.

Effective April 1, 2008 the Real Estate Tax Relief program has been transferred from the Department of Human Services to the Commissioner of the Revenue.  If you are 65 years of age or older, or permanently and totally disabled, you may qualify for tax relief for your real estate tax bills. The Commissioner of Revenue will accept applications for tax relief each year from January 1 through August 31.  Please click HERE for more information about the program.
