Military Leave Summary
A summary of the benefits related to military leave.
An employee who is a former member of the armed services or a member of the organized reserve forces of any of the armed services of the United States, National Guard or naval militia will be granted leave with pay for federally funded military duty, to include training duty, not to exceed 15 workdays per federal fiscal year; except, no paid leave will be received for more than 15 workdays per federally funded tour of active military duty. [The number of hours considered to be a workday varies depending upon whether you are a regular, full-time employee, a 24-hour fire employee, or a full-time employee who does not work a standard eight (8) hour day.] Additional leave for military duty will be granted as an unpaid, excused absence unless the employee elects to have the absent time charged to paid personal leave. Leave should be requested as soon as orders are received, so that arrangements can be made for the absence.
