Fire Prevention Week

The Newport News Fire Department encourages Newport News residents to practice fire safety!  Fire Prevention Week is October 3-9, 2010. Visit the National Fire Protection Agency's website for more information on Fire Prevention Week.   This year's theme encourages us to make sure we have working smoke alarms and to create and practice a home escape plan. Please come to our annual Open House on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from noon-4:00pm at our Oyster Point Fire Station.  Lots of displays and activities for children!  Free and open to the public!
