A description of the ARRA Resurfacing Project on Jefferson Avenue and Warwick Boulevard
Basic Construction is currently working on milling (removing 2” asphalt) and paving (adding 2” asphalt) on Jefferson Avenue from Harpersville Road and Hemlock Road and on Warwick Boulevard from Denbigh Boulevard to Nettles Drive.
After milling, the contractor has to replace the signal loops and make adjustments on utility boxes, therefore, there is a time delay on paving. Also, this project is funded through the Federal ARRA Grant, where stringent asphalt tests are required. The contractor is working to fulfill the requirements and plans to resume nightly milling and paving activities to complete the work by the end of May 2011.
