Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Study (SSES) Smoke Testing Schedule
The Newport News Department of Public Works, Wastewater Division, is conducting a sanitary sewer evaluation study designed to eliminate ground water and storm water from entering the sanitary sewer system in your area. Part of this program requires smoke testing the sanitary sewer mains and house lateral connections to find leaks. The areas scheduled to be tested are displayed below. More areas will be tested later, so you are encouraged to check this page on a regular basis.
Smoke test crews carry appropriate identification and use well-marked vehicles. For more information on the smoke testing process see SSES Smoke Test.
